Alabama Rig? No thanks
I saw a commercial for an Alabama Rig earlier this weekend while watching TV. The ad said that this lure will work great everywhere but after doing some research, I found out that it's illegal in about 10 states. It's illegal because it contains five separate hooks and most Inland Game and Fisheries Departments deem that anything with more than two hooks is unfair. The ad did not mention this at all and I think it's very misleading to consumers. I fish in North Carolina quite frequently and was thinking about buying one, had I not done a little research I could've be looking at a hefty fine.

wow. they should definitely mention that in the ad. What prompted you to do the research?
ReplyDeleteI try to get out fishing about once a week and as soon as I hear something buzzing around about a new lure I look it up and see what people think of it. I have a few fishing websites that I go to and read reviews on the newest lures and such. I also subscribe to a magazine that comes out monthly that has some good information. The information regarding the ban is conveniently left out of the magazines but on the fishing forums is where I found it.
